Okemos, MI (February 3, 2012) - Summit Community Bank is proud to support the Haslett-Okemos Rotarians and their annual fundraising event - The Old Newsboys of Lansing.

After the one-day fundraising event that took place in December, Lansing State Journal Account Representative Ashley Bragdon, was recently presented the 1st Annual Stein-Bunka Golden Boot Award by Adam Goss, Summit Community Bank and Mike Ma, Owner of Meridian Cleaners in Okemos.

“Ashley was presented with this great honor because of her efforts last month raising money for the Old Newsboys of Lansing,” said Summit Community Bank Assistant Vice President and Market Manager Adam Goss. “The Old Newsboys of Lansing is a group that helps raise money to purchase boots, shoes, and socks for Lansing area children.”

The Haslett-Okemos Rotary raised over $1,500 in the one day effort. The Annual Stein-Bunka Golden Boot Award was designed by Goss to help honor past Haslett-Okemos Rotarians Jack Stein and Donald Bunka. Stein and Bunka were both well known for their dedication to the Old Newsboys of Lansing and their efforts to help organize groups of Rotarians in the fundraising efforts.

Rotarian Sue Hohl was also honored for her participation in the one day sale. Ma and Goss are both Haslett-Okemos Rotarians. Goss also sits on the Board of Directors for the Old Newsboys of Lansing.
