Summit Community Bank Celebrates 5 Years in Okemos with Free Chocolate Cake!

East Lansing, MI (October 9, 2012) - Summit Community Bank will celebrate the 5th anniversary of its Okemos location October 22 to 27. In keeping with the long time tradition of Bill Knapp’s restaurant, the Bank will serve chocolate cake!

Summit Community Bank opened its second full-service banking center at 2151 West Grand River Avenue in Okemos 5 years ago. The Okemos office sits on the former site of the well-known Bill Knapp’s restaurant - a gathering place for family celebrations for many years.

A weeklong Anniversary Celebration will take place October 22 to 27. In the tradition of Bill Knapp’s, the Bank will serve chocolate cake in their lobby to all visitors. Everyone in the community is invited to join in the celebration.

“As the local community bank in Okemos, we play an active role in the Okemos community,” said Summit Community Bank Vice President, Relationship Manager Adam Goss. “Our Okemos office is located on the major thoroughfare where Bill Knapp’s was located for many years. Many of our customers still jokingly ask if we are going to serve Bill Knapp’s Chocolate Cake. We continue to honor our anniversaries with this long-standing tradition. We hope everyone in the community will join in the fun.”

Summit Community Bank has developed a reputation for its customer-focused and friendly staff. “The professionals serving in our Okemos office continue to build on our commitment of creative, focused and mindful customer service,” Goss said. “This celebration is a small way for us to say thank you for allowing us to serve the Okemos Community.”

The Bank sits on the former Bill Knapp’s restaurant site just west of Okemos Road. Customers appreciate the facility’s welcoming lobby, drive-thru lanes, drive-thru ATM and convenient location near shopping centers and local offices.
