Summit Community Bank Announces Officer Promotions

East Lansing, Mich. (February 6, 2013) - The Board of Directors of Summit Community Bank recently announced the promotions of William Hufnagel, Bryan Clark, Joe Joseph, Ken Nealey, Rhonda Curtis, Todd Sambaer and Anna Shipman.

“It is with great pleasure that I am able to announce the promotions of these well deserving individuals,” said Summit Community Bank President and CEO John Abbott. “As we celebrate our 10 year anniversary this year, these folks, along with our other fine staff, have helped us to exceed our expectations as the local community bank.”

William Hufnagel has been named President of Mortgage Banking Operations. Hufnagel earned his bachelor’s degree in management and organizational development from Spring Arbor University. Prior to his career with Summit Community Bank, Hufnagel was a founding member and partner of Providence Mortgage Company.

Bryan Clark is named Senior Vice President of Mortgage Banking Operations. He is a graduate of Michigan State University and holds a bachelor’s degree in finance. Prior to joining Summit Community Bank, Clark served as Production Manager and Senior Mortgage Banker at Providence Mortgage Company. He was also a loan originator for Rock Financial and Citizens Bank. Clark is responsible for the overall performance and training of the mortgage origination staff. His responsibilities also include product placement and new product offerings.

Joe Joseph is named Senior Vice President Mortgage Banker. Joseph is a graduate of Alma College where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration.  Prior to joining Summit Community Bank, Joseph was the Director of Business Development and a Senior Mortgage Banker for Providence Mortgage Company. He has also worked for several sales organizations and was self-employed as a small business owner.  Joseph has an extensive background in sales and marketing beginning his career in the mortgage industry in 1997.

Ken Nealey has been named Vice President Information Technology Manager. Nealey has extensive experience in the Information Technology industry including network systems management, security and regulatory compliance. Prior to joining Summit Community Bank, Nealey was the Manager of Information Technology for Providence Mortgage Company.

Rhonda Curtis is named Assistant Vice President Office Manager. She began her career in banking as a teller in 1978 and has advanced through the ranks into several supervisory, management and assistant vice president positions with various banks throughout Michigan. She joined Summit Community Bank in 2006 as office manager and was appointed BSA Officer of the Bank in 2009.

Todd Sambaer is named Assistant Vice President Human Resources Manager. Sambaer has a bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University. He was promoted to Human Resources Manager for the Bank in 2010. Prior to joining Summit Community Bank, Sambaer served as Human Resource Director for Providence Mortgage Company.

Anna Shipman is named Assistant Vice President Operations Manager. Shipman began her career in banking as a teller in 1989 with Capital Federal, which later became Community First Bank. She joined Summit Community Bank in 2003 as Operations and Accounting Specialist and was promoted to the position of Operations Manager in 2009.
