Jane Sherzer Joins Summit Community Bank

East Lansing, Mich. (April 15, 2013) - Summit Community Bank recently announced the addition of Jane Sherzer to their commercial lending executive team.

Sherzer joined Summit Community Bank as Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer in March 2013.  As a small business advocate, Sherzer is passionate about helping local business owners succeed in today’s economy.

Before joining Summit Community Bank, Sherzer served as President of the Michigan Certified Development Corporation (MCDC) for nine years.  During her tenure as President, the MCDC consistently led the state in SBA 504 loan approvals, and Sherzer was recognized as the SBA Michigan Financial Services Champion in 2011.

Prior to her role with the MCDC, Sherzer enjoyed a successful career in commercial banking throughout the state of Michigan.  Sherzer was elected First Vice President of Bank One and assisted middle market and corporate customers in Michigan and Indiana.  She also was appointed Vice President and Senior Loan Officer at Fifth Third Bank in East Lansing, Mich., where she managed a commercial loan portfolio.

Sherzer holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Iowa.  She serves on the boards of the Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Centers and Northern Initiatives.

Currently Sherzer is one of 10 finalists selected, from over 90 nominations, for the 2013 Greater Lansing Woman of the Year Award. She resides in Okemos, Mich., with her husband Joe and their two daughters.
