Curtis Appointed BSA Officer

East Lansing, MI (February 20, 2009) – The Board of Directors for Summit Community Bank recently announced the appointment of Rhonda Curtis to BSA Officer of the Bank.


Curtis began her career in banking as a teller in 1978 and has advanced through the ranks into several supervisory, management and assistant vice president positions with various banks throughout Michigan. In 2000, Curtis joined Great Lakes Motor Works & Classic Instruments where she specialized in human resources and benefits until joining Summit Community Bank in 2006 as office manager.


“This is a well deserved promotion,” says President and CEO John Abbott. “The Bank Secrecy Act has become an extremely important part of our business today.  We are confident Rhonda will handle this role well with our customers, staff and regulators in mind.”


As BSA Officer, Curtis will oversee the Bank’s compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, which includes the Anti-Money Laundering Program and the USA Patriot Act.


Curtis is a native of Ovid, and graduated from Ovid-Elise High School. She resides in DeWitt.
