East Lansing, MI (October 7, 2010) - Summit Community Bank will celebrate the 3rd anniversary of its Okemos location next week. In keeping with the long time tradition of Bill Knapp’s restaurant, the Bank will serve chocolate cake and offer special certificate of deposit (CD) promotions.

Summit Community Bank opened its second full-service banking center at 2151 West Grand River Avenue in Okemos 3 years ago. The Okemos office sits on the former site of the well-known Bill Knapp’s restaurant - a gathering place for family celebrations for many years.

A weeklong Anniversary Celebration will take place October 11 to 16. In the tradition of Bill Knapp’s, the Bank will serve chocolate cake in their lobby to all visitors. There will also be CD promotions during the week. Everyone in the community is invited to join in the celebration.

“We are pleased to be a part of the Okemos community,” said Summit Community Bank Market Manager Adam Goss. “Our Okemos office is located on the major thoroughfare where Bill Knapp’s was located for many years. Many of our customers still jokingly ask when we are going to serve Bill Knapp’s Chocolate Cake. So, we plan to continue honoring our anniversaries with this long-standing tradition. We hope everyone in the community will join in the fun.”

Summit Community Bank has developed a reputation for its customer-focused and friendly staff. “The professionals serving in our Okemos office continue to build on our commitment of creative, focused and mindful customer service,” Goss said. “This celebration is a small way for us to say thank you for allowing us to serve the Okemos Community.”

The Bank sits on the former Bill Knapp’s restaurant site just west of Okemos Road. Customers appreciate the facility’s welcoming lobby, drive-thru lanes, drive-thru ATM and convenient location near shopping centers and local offices.
